This is my first attempt at blogging. So, beware of the up-coming mistakes. There should be plenty. However, I must not allow the thought of making many mistakes to derail me from starting this blog. Why? Because the need is great in our culture for you to understand the dynamics of the Christian life and the source for that understanding.
The Christian community has long approached the Old Testament as an obsolete book. The Christian community has focused on the New Testament as the primary source text for developing an understanding of the Christian life. However, the New Testament is built upon the Old Testament. The New Testament is the spiritual fruit of the Old Testament teachings. It is good to feast upon the spiritual fruit spoken of in the New Testament. But it is helpful to know how that fruit is cultivated and produced. The Old Testament is our source book for developing that understanding.
In order to develop the focus of what enables you to understand your Christian life, we will start with the question, What is your source? If it is in the Bible, what particular aspect of the Bible helps you to do that? Surprisingly, the Old Testament gives us the blueprints and a physical model for developing this understanding.
Let me know what you think.
